CONVERTING WAV TO MP3 USING CDEX

You can easily convert your Wav to MP3 by downloading and using the Freeware program CDex.

Before we start you should decide what sound quality you want to use for your sound files. Open 'Options/Settings' and choose your desired encoding property. By default CDex is set to the CD quality standard settings for Wav and MP3, There is no need to change these settings for burning to CD:

MP3: 128kbps 44100 Hz Stereo

Wav: 44100 Hz 16bit Stereo

Now we have our encoding properties we can choose the Wav files we are going to convert from Wav to MP3.

Open 'Convert/Wav -> MPeg'.

Browse through the 'Directory' to locate the Wav files on your hard drive you want to convert.

When you have selected your Wav files click the convert button.

When you start to convert the elapsed time will show in the File Conversion window. The time it takes to convert your tracks is down to how many tracks you are converting and your PC systems performance.

The finished extraction's will by default be found in your 'C:\My Documents\MP3\' folder. If you want to save them somewhere different open 'Options/Settings/Filenames' in CDex and choose a different location.

NOTE: You can also use this tutorial to convert MP3 to Wav by selecting the 'MPEG -> WAV' option in the 'Convert' settings.
