CREATING
ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIO PRESETS FOR MIDI PLAYBACK
You
can create your own EA presets to suit your musical needs. This tutorial
will create an EA preset for midi playback with reverb.
The default EA settings
normally have a 'Global' effect, this is why you hear the effects on
everything you playback.
Open 'Audio HQ/Environmental
Audio'. Select an Environment (for this tutorial we will use 'Cave').

Click on the 'Source'
tab and change all the settings to 0% except for 'Original Sound' which
you can leave at 100%

Click on the 'Master'
tab and make sure 'Original Sound' is set to 100%. Now set the amount
of 'Reverb' you want to use for this preset (we are going to use 30%).

Now when you playback
any Windows media file wav, Mp3, CD etc. there will be no effect. These
effect settings will now work in a sequencer on midi data but not globally
as before on all Windows media.
You can now highlight
the Environment you have altered and give it your own unique name to
save in the presets.
You will notice
that when you highlight the preset name the 'Save' icon is still greyed
out until you type a new preset name.

You can now repeat
this procedure as many times as you like creating new presets with different
settings for different sound environments you work in.
